Club Activities: Kaduna and Kano Schools Introduces New Clubs
It has been said that club activities builds into students social skills, time management skills, helps them to explore a plethora of interests, develop self-esteem, and build in them commitment. These and more are what we aim to achieve with our various school club activities.
Through the term, our pupils and students across our schools participated in various clubs of their interest. Our Kano pupils had the opportunity of exploring the sciences through science and jet clubs while those who love music and arts also had inspiring moments at the music room and our karate enthusiasts also tested their mettles in karate.
Kaduna school introduced three new clubs; Polo Club for Boys, Horse Riding and Pottery Club for girls. Recent research published in Frontiers in Public Health shows that the effects of vibrations produced by horses during horse-riding lead to the activation of the systematic nervous system, which improves learning in children. Introducing Horse-Riding Club for Kaduna Girls and Polo Club for Kaduna Boys in partnership with ‘Fifth Chucker’, one of the biggest Polo and Horse Riding game resort in Africa is a step in the right direction.
Horse riding and polo game teaches patience, discipline, understanding, empathy, compassion, self-control and dedication, while pottery club is aimed at helping our arts students improve their knowledge of arts and craft.
Many members of the clubs have expresses their awe at how fast they have learned with their weekly trainings.
