Gold and Silver Medals Defines GISUTECH 2018 for NTIC
It was an exhilarating moment for the NTIC family as our students who participated in GISUTECH 2018 took first and second positions in Short Movie and Lego Line Follower categories, flagging one Gold and two Silver medals before students from 16 other participating countries of the world including China, Uganda, Kenya, etc.
Our students came overall first position in Short Movie category and won Gold medal among 10 countries that participated in the category and came overall second position winning Silver Medals in Robotics (Lego Line Follower category) before 16 countries that participated.
Our participating students from NTIC Abuja Girls section includes Fawzia Jaafar, Zainab Idris, Rufaida Felande under the supervision of their teacher, David Haastrup represented not just NTIC but Nigeria at large at the competition.
GISUTECH is an International Robotics and Technology Competition organized by Galaxy International School Uganda to encourage young people to apply their imagination, their passion, and their creativity to technology innovations that can make a difference in the world today.
The competition is not just about promoting professional excellence, however; it also serves to promote intercultural dialogue and cooperation, through the involvement of students and teachers from all around the world. This year’s competition took place in Kampala, Uganda from April 27-28, 2018.
It is always our passion at NTIC to inspire students to be computer technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
