NTIC Represents Nigeria & Wins Medals at World Mathematics Team Championship 2018 in Bulgaria
Five NTIC students represented Nigeria at the World Mathematics Team Championship (WMTC) 2018, and returned home with 1 silver medal, 2 bronze medals, and two merits at the 9th World WMT Championships that took place from November 19, 2018 to November 25, 2018 in Varna, Bulgaria.
The highly competitive challenge was participated by top mathematics geniuses that comprised of 67 teams from 16 countries and territories. The Nigerian delegation represented by 5 students from NTIC Abuja Boys and Coed made Nigeria proud, particularly Chiedozie Okezie of Abuja Boys who won silver medal.
Overcoming many difficulties such as remote test site, cold weather, time difference, difficult exam, or the difference in the level compared to other countries, our mathelets weathered the storm and successfully brought back medals.
The World Mathematics Team Championship (WMTC) is an annual World Mathematics Team Championship organized with the aim of strengthening the understanding and communication among youths from different regions and to help them foster friendships around the world.
